Five places in every country are free to open. A pass opens the rest: every one of the creator’s picks in that country, with the note they wrote about each place and a link that opens it in Google Maps. You also get the creator’s own full Google Maps list for that country, so you can save the whole thing to your phone in one tap.

No. One payment, nothing to cancel. One country is $4.99, the creator’s whole map is $9.99. Your pass does not expire.

The country unlocks straight away on the device you paid on. We create a free account from the email you used and send you an access link, so you can open your pass on your phone and your laptop. To sign in anywhere else, enter that email and we send a six-digit code. There is no password to remember.

Yes, and at no extra cost. Every country the creator adds later is included in the map pass, for as long as you have it.

Real. Every pin comes from the creator’s own saved list of places they have actually been, and every note is their own wording. Nobody pays to be on the map, and no restaurant can buy a pin. If a place turns out to be closed we take it off.

Google Maps does not work in mainland China, and the alternatives miss most of these places, their reviews and their exact locations. China pins open in Dazhong Dianping instead, which is what people in China actually use.

Your pass opens the moment you pay, so we ask you to confirm at checkout that you want it unlocked straight away. That means we do not do change-of-mind refunds. If something is genuinely wrong, though, say a pass that did not unlock or one that is not what we described, email us and we will put it right or refund you. Our refund policy has the detail.

No. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics and no tracking pixels. We count anonymous page views and clicks on our own server to see which countries people look at. Nothing is stored on your device and none of it identifies you. The only thing kept in your browser is the pass you bought, so it stays unlocked.

Only if you tick the box asking us to. Buying a pass gets you the receipt and your access link, and nothing else. Marketing is opt-in and every email has an unsubscribe link.
